Viva! My Bam

Ok...so as stated on my Tabo List...if I were to get a dog, I'd name it Chaw-Lee. Unfortunately, that was not possible per my offspring, E.J. He decided to name him after some skateboard dude, Bam Margera. What's a mother to do? Why - let him choose the name of the our new yellow Labrador Retriever, of course.

Let's just hope having a family pet will keep him distracted from the puberty phase aka diggin' chicks. As a mother, I will do anything for him to keep away from adolescent blooming, NONblood-related estrogen.

Anyway, here is a pic of Bam the first day (09.20.09) we picked him up from the breeder from Grass Valley.

8 weeks old

Here's a pic of him at 16 weeks (12.25.09)

Brownie Points

I had the most interesting conversation last night with Sean. Topics of conversation included the following: 1.) The advantages of living in a home with high ceilings 2.) How difficult it is to work on a ratio system 3.) Regrets of ordering the clam chowder at Red Lobster 4.) Being on the same page, but not really being on the same page 5.) How we totally decided to fractionate (<---is that even a word?) - what he ate vs. what I ate LOL! Good Times....I seriously haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Kudos! Or even better - that night deserved brownie points. Thanks Dude!

Win a MUNI Bus Surfing Contest

Bus surfing contest opponent was Rolsuno. Location - San Francisco. Starting point was at a MUNI bus stop on Taraval located in the Sunset District. It was about quarter until 6:00 p.m. and we were both waiting for the bus or shall I say "L" street car to arrive. Destination - Downtown. I was pumped. It was an anxious and a very determined victory for me. We finally boarded the MUNI. Rolsuno and I headed to the rear of the bus where there were less people. Game was on. I checked my blackberry to check the starting time - 5:57 p.m. Ready, set, go! First round was fairly easy. The bus was empty leaving us with tons of space to work with. An asian couple was observing us, as well as an old lady. I'm sure people were wondering why we chose the option to stand when there were several empty seats for us. Anyway, this contest seemed like a piece of cake. I even had opportunities to take pictures of our reflections on the scratched up window. Boy am I short!
All of a sudden, my right foot started to cramp up. My feet were aching. I was concentrating on keeping my toes curled inwards so that my shoes could keep a good grip with the rubber floor. I wasn't sure if that technique was actually helping but it was worth a try. I looked at my blackberry for the time. It was 6:10 p.m. We were almost at the final stop which was the Embarcadero Station. We got off and waited to board the bus to go back to Taraval. I took advantage of the waiting time to stretch out my legs and rotate my ankles. By this time, I was wishing I had worn my comfortable Nike Equalon shoes. [sigh] It was 6:25 p.m. when we boarded on a bus back to Rolsuno's hood - The Sunset. Bus was a bit more crowded than the first bus we took. I began to draw some concerns of the possibility that I would not have enough room to balance. Next stop - Montgomery station. Oh d-d-dear. There were hella people boarding. My worst fear came true. Going into this, I'd never considered that I wouldn't have any room. The primary reason we chose to bus surf during a weekend evening was to not get in the way of rush hour. We were once again standing in the back of the bus but for some reason more people entered the bus from the rear. Why?! I took a step back towards the rear window of the bus. Suddenly, I lost my balance and backed up too far into the wall. It all happened slow motion. Rolsuno turned to me and noticed my loss of balance. He had a huge grin on his face because he knew that a part of my body would hit the glass window. That it did. My stupid ass....like literally, my ass bumped it first. UGH! From there our MUNI bus surfing contest concluded. By that time, it was exactly 6:30 p.m. Unsuccessful.
After months of lagging and postponements, this what happened to be an easy Tabo list item to knock off ended up in becoming a huge disappointment. I did not win. I'm a loser. I'm a sore loser. I wish I can turn back time and do things differently. Why did I have to be so considerate to such random strangers and take that one step back to failure! [sigh]
One day, I will try again. I'm not going to give up. I want to be the champion!

"TABO" List Accomplishment - Edition #1

All but Item 1.) have not been previously listed in my Tabo List. They were pretty random, but at the same time I'm proud of so I'm sharing them with you. 1.) Yellow Belt Test: YAY! I'm one step closer in achieving my Black Belt in Kenpo. As Wowowee would say, "Hep, Hep - HOORAY!". I'm kind of stressing though. My test for my next belt ranking is the same night I'm hosting bare-faced.com's fundraiser event - Friday, September 5th. Crap! Guess, I'll be cutting it real close. I'm still oh sooo excited =D 2.) I met and befriended my son's best friend's mother at school (finally). She's El Salvadorian and is really, really sweet. Normally, I'm a bit skeptical about meeting mothers at EJ's school. Let's just say his school is like on border line Hillsborough territory. Lots of soccer-plastic-overachieverness-competitive-ballerific like moms. Enough said. Anyway, we exchanged numbers and I offered to pick up and drop Eric (her son EJ's best friend) off at home in the afternoon immediately after she told me that she pays a friend $5 a day to do the task. WTF? What type of friend is that? I, for sure hope I never meet someone that requires I pay a fee for their friendship services. Totally wrong! 3.) I'm currently in the process of cleaning my cubicle right now. I'll be working late, but I can't wait to see the look of all my co-workers' face when they finally see the cherry wood surface! No more white paper work piling up to the ceiling!! Pics will be posted tomorrow. Yay for me! What can I say? I work well under pressure =) Actually, I received an email specifically targeted at me this afternoon from my boss' boss. Ooops!
"Could you please tidy up your workstation in case the potential investors come down tomorrow? Thank you very much."

Do a Photo Shoot with Photographer Michael Vincent

In less than 24 hours, my sister and I will be in L.A. Whoo-Hoo! The BIG day is finally approaching. I started off my morning today at 5am. I went straight to the gym to work out. I ran the treadmill for about an hour - loved it. It felt so good. My final 2 minutes I increased my incline so that I can do a hill sprint @ 8 mph! I really thought I was gonna puke, but I didn't - YAY for me! My appointment with the photographer is Saturday at 3pm in beautiful West Hollywood. If we have time, my sister and I wanted to stalk Rob Dyrdek and Big Black! I LOVE them! We even 'googled' their home address!! LMAO! Anyway, I've thought long and hard and changed my mind about the 3 looks I had originally chosen. I figure - might as well just wing it and see what they have for me. I'm most definitely sticking to my 1940's Pin-Up Model theme. I just got to remember my them black and white 40s high heeled mary janes...sooo cute! I'm hoping for a safe drive down to So. Cal. Wish me luck...HOLLYWOOD here we come! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
