Mystery Solved: Why Do Divers Shower Off??

When the Diving competition of the 2008 Beijing Olympics began, I questioned myself: Why do they always have to shower immediately after their dives? I originally thought it was because they wanted to rinse off the chlorine off their body. But then again, I thought to myself - What's the use of showering in between dives if they are going to compete AGAIN in less than 5 minutes? Weird. Anyway, I brought it to my younger sister's attention a few days ago. She was like, 'Oh yeah, huh! They do shower all the time'. Out of curiosity, she Yahoo!'d it (sorry Google). Apparently, we weren't the only ones that were dieing to know the real reason for the showering. Nonetheless, I'm happy and quite satisfied learning the real truth behind this strange mystery: The reason why divers shower in between their dives is to prevent their muscles from tightening. Aaaah! The temperature of the air and the pool vary significantly. The pool is usually around 80 degrees while the air is usually 68-72 degrees. So, in order for them to keep their muscles warm, they'll need to take a warm shower or hit up a hot tub. Get it now? I certainly do. I love it when I get my questions answered....Oh what a feeling!
