Bad Influences

You know how you have people in your life that bring out the best in you? There are also people that bring out the WORST in you which are usually referred to as bad influences. But as a clarification, when someone is a bad influence, it doesn't necessarily mean that that particular person is bad. There's just this feeling when I'm surrounded by such an individual that I feel invincible and dominant. It's a thrilling feeling because whatever I do or say, doesn't seem to phase that person. Anything and everything I do is tolerable. It's very unfortunate because that the respect between one another flies out the window. While I'm trying to reevaluate my actions, I wonder why does this happen to me? Why do I do this when I know it's wrong? What shall I do if I run into another situation as this one? Maybe I like that rush of being a rebel or more rather a bitch! Or maybe I just DON'T feel like being myself at that moment in time. Or maybe...just maybe it's because not so very often, I get my say with things. Am I just bored? Is it normal? I don't like feeling selfish, but I admit I can be. My attitude is really day and night. How do I fix that so I don't do it again? Should one avoid the bad influence and move on OR is the situation fixable? I seriously need to put myself in check. If no one can put me in my place...it's all on me. I'm only human and will eventually commit mistakes throughout my lifetime. Until then, I will continue to be a work in progress as I try to do the best thing for me and others around me by ridding away of my evil guilty conscience.
